Three Christmases ago, I saw something like this on another blog. I can't remember where, but I feel like it was the NieNie Dialogues... ? (Anyone know?)
Anyway, I adopted the idea, and on the first page I wrote a little paragraph about our family and included our Christmas Card. I shared the exciting news that I was pregnant with twins, that we were both still students, that Travis had just gotten a new job. I wrote about everybody's favorite present, and then I packed the book up and stuck it in the Christmas decoration box.
The next year was much more exciting. We had two little boys, learning to walk and play. Travis had started his own company and we were in a completely different place in our lives. I included pictures of the boys in their Christmas pjs and their try at sitting with Santa. I wrote about our gifts, our families, and it was amazing to look back on how different things were just a year ago.
This year, pulling out our Christmas book and comparing the last three years was such a pleasure! Once again, we are in a new home. We are in a new city, we have two toddlers, and Travis' company has taken off.
And I'm excited that this is one of the traditions that is totally our own. We didn't adopt it from my family or Travis' family. It's all ours. And I'm so excited to slowly fill all the pages of the book over the next years, as we add children, new houses, pets, and changes.
What's your favorite Christmas tradition?
Are you trying to start something new in your own family?
(Haha, oh! I just noticed that you can see our address on the postcards! I'm not going to bother editing it out, because we don't live there anymore!)

This is so great Becky, I love it!
I am a sucker for traditions and we do something similiar to that, except we write letters to ourselves.
LOVE this idea!
Love the idea! And the postcards... where do you get them printed?
Beautifully done Becky! A treasure in the making!
This is such a great idea! I think I might have to do it. I usually write something quickly on a paper and tuck it in an ornament to find the next year but this is a way for me to keep track and not lose them.
You inspired me ;) I included a link to this post of yours too for my readers!

@ Amanda, I get them printed somewhere different every year, usually I find a deal somewhere. This year was Costco!
@ Jessica Smith, I think that it was from Barnes and Nobel, but I got it like 6 years ago...
