For the last three years, I've been pretty consistent with taking a photo a day. I love it, and I love my photo journals of the years. But the last few months, I've had an impossibly difficult time documenting the daily. I just am so busy and trying to do so many things (good things!) that photography and blogging have fallen a bit by the wayside. Every Monday, I think about blogging and have to confess to myself that I didn't take a photo every day. And taking a couple quick pictures and pretending I took them last week is highly disheartening.
And so, it's time for a break. A new goal.
Photo-a-Day was perfect for me, as I improved my photography skills and sought beauty in the "mundane" of everyday. (I wouldn't really call my life mundane.) and I'm hoping my new goal will help me to do those things too, while re-inspiring me to actually pick up my camera and shoot something I love.
This year, I'm going to try to take a portrait of each of my children every week, and a picture of the three of them once a month. Since we are two weeks into the year, I wanted to include both this week and last weeks in this post.
So here we go. My boys.
Week 1:
Grey's hair has been really overgrown and it makes him look so little to me! Here he was gazing out the window, imagining our backyard was Sherwood Forest.
August James in his favorite place: the sink bath!
Grey, taking careful aim. Did I mention that they love weapons and costumes?
Micah, contemplating blowing out this candle in the early morning before anyone else has woken up.

I'm going to like this. I like and miss you.
I just caught up with your posts. I know I must say the same thing over and over, but they are such wonderful photos and such darling little boys. Thanks for always sharing. It is a wonderful treat for us!
Your boys are just precious!
